Becki Fishwick - Wedding Singer
Becki first took to the stage as a 6 year old starring in her school nativity, and has loved performing ever since.
At the age of 20 Becki moved overseas to work for Thomas Cook, entertaining holidaymakers in large cabaret shows around the Mediterranean.
Returning to the UK in 2008, Becki performed as a solo covers act for local venues in Barrow-in-Furness, then joining the popular soul and Motown band ‘Heart and Soul’.
After moving to Manchester in 2010 to pursue her solo career further, Becki was asked to sing for Mary Portas’ party in Manchester’s House of Fraser.
In 2013 Becki pursued her dream job singing on a cruise liner, visiting Belgium, Norway and the Caribbean, singing in large musical productions and performing her very own cabaret to up to 1500 passengers.
Becki moved back to Barrow-in-Furness in 2014 and has been extremely busy performing as an event and wedding singer. Offering several musical options, from a ‘Soul and Motown night’, a ‘Vintage Cabaret performance’ and an ‘Acoustic Session’. Becki’s performances are suited to all occasions.
Becki also teaches singing lessons at The South Lakes Rock School, herself having received a Grade 8 Distinction in Rock and Pop Vocals, which she is very proud of.
Becki has become a vintage enthusiast over the years and loves to bring a touch of 40’s, 50’s or 60’s style and glamour to her performances.
Becki’s musical inspirations include Paloma Faith, Imelda May and Amy Winehouse and grew up listening to classics such as Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Patsy Cline, Etta James and Janis Joplin and other soulful voices.
In Feb 2016 Becki organised and starred in an Amy Winehouse tribute evening raising money and awareness for the Amy Winehouse foundation, performing all of Amys hits with an 8 piece live band, the event was a huge success and sold out at local large music venue, The Nines in Barrow in Furness. In 2015 Becki performed at many Vintage events including the Retro Rendevous weekend in Ulverston, The Mid century Market in Camden, London and performing at several Rock n Roll events with a live band. Becki has also worked closely with some fantastic local companies including The Belsfield, Laura Ashley hotel, in Bowness at their weddings and Costa Coffee live music evenings.
Becki is looking forward to doing more charity work with St Mary’s hospice this year by donating her time and entertainment for a few of their wonderful events, and also performing in dementia care homes throughout the year, and very excited to be working with a new supplier The Midland hotel in Morecambe, which is a favourite hotel for its decor and vintage themed events.
