VE Day at the Imperial War Museum Manchester

Sunday was a very special day in my life. I was lucky to have been part of the VE Day celebrations held at The imperial War Museum in Manchester, an opportunity for people of the north west to come and revisit this important day in British history. I myself performed wartime songs throughout the day to the visitors, who listened, smiled and reminisced about the bygone era of the 1940s. I wore an original land army suit and had my hair styled by a vintage beauty parlour. For the event there was a talk by Manchester music legend Dave Haslam, fashion shows, ration talks, dance lessons and hairstyling to recreate the era. It was a day of celebration, looking back to the end of a troubled era with a positive outcome. Proud to be a part if it and proud to be British!
